After Konkan, the state is set to give a package to the six districts of northern Maharashtra. A cabinet meeting will be held in Nashik
on July 22, when chief minister Ashok Chavan is expected to announce the Rs 6,000-crore package.
Sources said deputy CM Chhagan Bhujbal, who is also the Nashik district guardian, wants to develop Igatpuri as a hill station on the lines of Khandala and Lonavla.
Government officials feel Igatpuri, which is on the Kasara ghat section, has high tourism potential.
