The state cabinet will meet in Nashik on July 22 in a special meeting to discuss a development package for north Maharashtra.
This was informed by the deputy chief minister and guardian minister for Nashik in an official press release.
The last cabinet meeting in Nashik was held on September 12, 1995.The state government has decided to give a development package for Maharashtra on the basis of Konkan package. The cabinet meeting to be held in Nashik will discuss on the plan that will help five districts of Nashik, Dhule, Nandurbar, Jalgaon and Nagar.
Last month, the cabinet had approved a development package of Rs1,000 crore for Konkan. It is understood that after that, the government was thinking of helping Khandesh but instead it decided to cover whole of north Maharashtra.
Nashik district administration is planning to ask for Rs4,500 crore aid for various development works in the district and Rs200 crore for development of Malegaon with an emphasis on housing for the weaker section.
