Tano Capital LLC invested about $7.4 million into Anil Printers Ltd., an Indian company.
Anil prints checks, legal documents, railroad and airline tickets, cargo bills, business forms and a variety of pre-paid cards. Its head office is in Nashik, in India’s Maharashtra state, northeast of Mumbai.
Anil will spend this money making smart cards and labels for radio frequency identification tags, working with a German firm, Mühlbauer High Tech International.
San Mateo-based Tano Capital was started in 2003 by Charles Johnson. It focuses on investments in India and China.
