Nashik has never seen such rains, with worst rains hitting Nashik for as much as I have read and heard. After heavy rains which lashed the city and its surrounding areas, nashik was marooned. After a delayed monsoon now people of nashik are praying for no more rains. Because of personal commitments I could not visit these places and get some pictures but I understand from grape wine that it is horrifying and has caused a lot of damage to all places.
Over 400 families living on the banks of Godavari river were shifted to safer places, as heavy rains lashing Nashik city and other parts of the district affected the normal life.

People living on the banks of Godavari river, near famous victoria bridge where flood water has been rushed in their houses either shifted to top floors or went to their relative’s houses for shelter, most of their domestic things were washed away, while families were also trapped on Kapadpeth, Balaji Kot, as water rushed surroundings, famous Balaji temple, Dutt temple, Gandhi-Chhatri, Dutondya, Maruti, Saraf Bazar, Dahi Pul, are under water.

Hi Ashwin,
I was about to ask you as one of my friends (in the US) who reads Marathi newspaper..:-) told me about it. Hope you’re not affected by it?
Last I recall you were saying there wasn’t enough rain..:-) I’m sure Suyojit Garden would be impacted as it is next to the river..and also the walking trail would be merged.
If you can take pictures of some key areas..that would be great.
Thanks,
Vikas
