With an eye on tapping the growth in domestic tourism, Pune-based Talera Group of Hotels (TGH) will invest about Rs 1,500 crore for building 100 fully automated budget hotels under the brand name ‘Smart Inn’ in next five years.
“The Group under its subsidiary Small Hotel Ventures is planning 100 ‘Smart Inn’ properties across the country, which are budget hotels catering to the bottom of the pyramid,” Talera Group of Hotels Managing Director Hrashad Talera told media.
He said overall the group was looking at adding about 10,000 rooms as each property would have an average capacity of 100 rooms, at a cost of Rs 15 crore. Talera said, ‘Smart Inn’ would cater to business travellers and other domestic tourists. The first one has already started operations in Pune.
